Matthew Hunt Grobert

Hunt Grobert is an avid fly fisherman and tier who grew up in New Jersey. Hunt learned to cast a fly rod and tie a perfect Quill Gordon before he learned to walk, thanks to the keen tutelage of his father, Matt Grobert. Over the years, Hunt has fished many of the rivers and streams of the greater New Jersey/Pennsylvania/New York area. Hunt’s knowledge of entomology as it pertains to the fly-fishing world is vast. Not only can he tell you what’s hatching on a river, he can help you with the pattern that best matches. His fascination with entomology led to a passion for tying classic Catskill dry fly patterns, which are Hunt’s bread and butter. If you have questions about bugs, whether they’re swimming or flying, or which flies best imitate those bugs, Hunt is your guy.
